MF and UF Have Different Hole Sizes
The main difference between MF and UF is the hole size. UF has smaller holes. It removes viruses. MF has bigger holes. It does not remove viruses. But MF gives you a higher flow rate. For the same membrane area, an microfiltration membrane module produces more water. Our MF module uses PVDF material. The form is curtain type. It is used in projects where virus removal is not needed. High flow is the main goal. You get more water for less money.


Where Should You Use an MF Module
You can use this product in many places. Waste water plants use it for pre-treatment. Before water goes to UF or RO, use MF to remove big particles and suspended solids. This protects the UF and RO membranes. They will last much longer. Some simple water reuse projects also use MF. The water quality is good enough for many uses. Industrial cooling water is one example. Rinse water and wash water are other examples. These uses do not need very pure water. MF is enough.
MF Module vs MBR Module How to Decide
Here is a simple way to decide. Are you treating waste water that needs to meet discharge rules? Use an MBR module. MBR has smaller holes. The water quality is better. Are you doing pre-filtration? For example, protecting UF or RO membranes in the next step. Then an microfiltration membrane module is enough. It costs less. The flow is higher.
