Labs use it for sensitive experiments. This product uses two technologies together. First reverse osmosis, then EDI.

How RO and EDI Work as a Team

 

Let me explain how these two work together. First, the reverse osmosis unit takes tap water and turns it into pure water. There are still a very small number of ions left at this point. Then that pure water goes into the EDI unit. EDI uses electricity to pull out those remaining ions. The water that comes out is ultra pure water. Our ultra water purification system has an RO unit that does 1 to 200 tons per hour. Then we add EDI modules. Each EDI module does 0 to 7 tons per hour. You add more modules for more water. It is a simple way to scale up.

Why We Recommend EDI Instead of Mixed Beds

 

Old-style ultra pure water systems used mixed bed ion exchange. Mixed beds need acid and lye to recharge. That is a lot of work. It also creates waste water. EDI does not need any of that. It runs on electricity. It works all day without stopping. No waste water. Our CEDI modules and industrial EDI modules work on this same principle. For semiconductor plants, we have special EDI modules that do 0 to 5 tons per hour. For labs, we use the same size. We recommend the right ultra water purification system based on your industry.
